Busy Philipps Reacts to Backlash Over Michelle Williams Photo on Anniversary of Heath Ledger’s Death
A few fans did when the performing artist traveled to San Francisco to be by her well known BFF Michelle Williams’ side on the tenth commemoration of Heath Ledger’s demise this past January. It wasn’t the trek that pounded fans’ riggings, but instead, Phillips’ Instagram post of Williams, who broadly dated Ledger and brought forth a girl with him.
The photograph, which caught the on-screen character snuggling her head into Philipps’ hair, incorporated a subtitle that read “It’s alright.” While a significant number of the star’s supporters adulated the picture and their persevering companionship, some were considerably more basic, portraying the post as tasteless, shallow or exploitative. Philipps took note.
“I think a few people felt like I was being exploitative,” she as of late revealed to The Cut. “I’ve never at any point extremely talked about [Ledger’s death], on the grounds that I never would need to have it be confused in that way, yet it was the ten-year commemoration, and… ,” she proceeded as she cried, the essayist noted.
“It’s simply been a long ten years, you know?” the I Feel Pretty star proceeded to The Cut. “That commemoration just raised a great deal of… I can’t trust it’s been ten years. I was pregnant with Birdie. I had seen him two or three months sooner, and you know, [Williams and Ledger] were separated. I’ve never discussed it. I’ve never shared it, since I’m hyper defensive of [Williams] and her little girl.”
“I likewise think… I believe it’s alright,” she clarified. “Everybody’s permitted to have their own emotions about something that happens.”
It doesn’t seem like Williams is stressed or distraught over what her bestie shares on the web. As the Oscar chosen one told The Cut, “I believe her judgment verifiably.”
